Norman Hartnell (1901 1979) began designing in 1923, and was appointed dressmaker to Her Majesty Queen Mary of Great Britain in 1937. He designed both Queen Elizabeth IIs wedding dress and her Coronation gown and is considered to be the leading British designer of his time. The nightie has a sheer layer of white nylon over a pink nylon base and is made in an above the
